Solid food!!! The grilled pork vermicelli is so good, lots of meat, paired with the crunchy veggies, every bite is perfect. I have sensitive stomach so eating out leaves me feeling uncomfortable and bloated a lot of the times, but the dishes at this place just tasted like fresh, good quality “real food”, my stomach felt great afterwards. The meatball soup leftover I got turned into gelatin in my fridge, heard that’s an indication of good soup. Def going back to try their pho.

I’ve been going o Cali sandwich for 15 years or more now and they are consistently phenomenal to me. The family, the food, the love and care they have for their customers, the food tastes home cooked, fresh and tasty. I will always have love for this place, enjoy!

Great spot for Vietnamese food! Also a very convenient location in the middle of Houston! I usually get a Banh Mi or Banh Uot!

Quick, tasty, cheap authentic Viet comfort food. My favorites here include bun rieu, com tam bi thit nuong, and banh mi. Service is quick, polite. The young owner is welcoming and knows how to delegate staff. Can get very busy during lunch time but service is quick and table availablility is ever-revolving.

You know it’s going to be good when you see the Vietnamese grandmas working. Very authentic, we enjoyed all our food.

Best tofu Bahn Mis in Houston since Les Grivals (which was the best) closed and Cali’s menu is not only absolutely delicious, it’s wonderful for vegetarians! Good tofu dishes, with well cooked tofu (less common than you’d think in this day of many vegetarians ). Love this place and it gets my highest level of recommendation!

I saw this on Buzzfeed on YouTube on the Sandwich Worth It episode and it’s in Houston and close to me and I have never visited so I decided to come today while I have some errands in downtown. The sandwich was really good. The bread is just perfect and the meat and veggies are substantial for the price. There are many to go order and they are taken care of the customer very well. The owner is hands on and everyone was very nice there. It’s just across from a beautiful park. If it’s crowded,I can always get to go and enjoy a picnic at the park. Highly recommended!

Pretty filled at lunch time, parking is a bit stressful but there is street parking. The food was good, bread a little dry but the meat and veggies all tasted well. The shrimp in the combination fried rice was just not seasoned at all, the beef and chicken were good in it. The egg rolls were yum. I'm definitely going to go back, all this food was for $30ish so worth the price in midtown. Service was a normal pace, but they're very attentive and quick to help you out. It's a solid and reliable lunch or dinner option.

I've been here years ago, and was waiting to rediscover this restaurant! The food is amazing here, and the avocado smoothie is just delicious! The ambiance is cute but clean, and even when I order pick-up, the food is still warm and fresh!

My favorite pho place in Houston! I've tried many places and this one tops for pricing and flavor of soup broth and variety. The bun bo hue (spicy beef) had ample lemongrass flavor albeit less spicy than I'm used to. The pho broth was fragrant and a classic staple. Banh Mi's were 5.50$ and great bang for buck. Will definitely be back! Service was fast and ambiance casual.
